The Executive of GRW have today, Monday 29th April 2013, issued a notice to call a Special General Meeting (SGM) of the Membership of GRW on Sunday 2nd June 2013 at the Jubilee Hall, Llanelwedd, Builth Wells, Powys LD23TY commencing at 2.00pm until 5.00pm.
This notice has been sent to all Members known to GRW through its membership database as of 29th April 2013. The notice has been sent through surface mail and also via the known email list avaliable to GRW
The purpose of this Special Genreal Meeting
In summary, the purpose of this meeting is to:.
- Dissolve the current charity Greyhound Rescue Wales and replace it with a new Charity that has a different form of governance known as a company limited by guarantee. The new charity will also be known as Greyhound Rescue Wales. This new structure was mandated by the membership at the Annual General Meeting of 18th November 2012 and will allow us to own property, employ staff, enter into legal agreements and provide liability protection to the Trustees
- Convene the first meeting of Greyhound Rescue Wales under the new governance, elect Trustees, transfer membership and accept the assets and liabilities of the previous Greyhound Rescue Wales.
- Consider and approve the recommendations of the Executive as to the use of the Lee Frank legacy following the report to the Executive by the Legacy Working Party
