SUMMARY:Greyhound Rescue Wales - Social Sighthound Walk - April 2026
DESCRIPTION:Join us for this fun\, friendly and accommodating social sighthound walk. Lots of our current residents from our Hillcrest Rehoming Centre will be in attendance\, so not only is this a great opportunity for those of you who are already owned by a hound (or two!) to make new houndy friends\, but also an ideal opportunity for those who’d like to learn more about greyhounds as a breed if you’ve not spent much time with them. \nThe walk is expected to last approximately 60 minutes and the ground is flat and even. Provided the cafe is open on the day\, there is the option at the end of the walk to pop in for a coffee and cake should you so wish! Parking costs £2.50 (for up to 3 hours) and £4 for all day. DESCRIPTION:We are returning to Carmarthen park for another Big Summer Fun Dog Show on the 5th September 2026.\nThis year’s fun dog show is sure to be a hit with novelty classes\, stalls\, Tombola\, food and new for 2026 a chance to test your dogs talents with a mini agility course!\nDog Show classes – Registration from 11\, first class 12 noon.\n1. Waggiest Tail 2. Best Young Dog (under 2)3. Golden Oldie (8 and over)4. Best Rescue5. Best Sighthound6. Best Cross breed\nBreak\n7. Dog the judge would like to take home!8. Best Trick9. Young Handler10. Loveliest lady11. Fabulous fella12. Best Black Dog13. Best in Show (winners of each class)\nThere are several car parks in the town within a few minutes walk\, and Tesco car park is next door to the park (although you do need to buy an item from in there and there is a maximum parking time\, please see their parking signs).\n\n\n*Help out on the day*If you’re interested in volunteering on the day\, we’d love your support.
