Give with Bing

Gift Aid
If you are a UK taxpayer*, you are most likely eligible to support us through the Gift Aid scheme. By completing a Gift Aid declaration when you donate, join as a member or use one of our charity shops, you enable us to claim 25p for every £1 raised, at no cost to you or us!
Gift Aid online is as simple as ticking the box on our forms. In our shops, our staff are trained to guide you through the declaration and will even contact you to let you know how much you have raised.
*Your donations will qualify as long as they’re not more than 4 times what you have paid in tax in that tax year (6 April to 5 April). The tax could have been paid on your income or capital gains.
Common Misconceptions
We find that a significant number of eligible people don’t register for Gift Aid due to some common misconceptions. We’ve highlighted the top 3 below to help you decide if you might want to register:
1. Gift Aid will cost me money
The money we claim from Gift Aid comes direct to us from HMRC, at no cost to either you or Greyhound Rescue Wales.
2. If I register for Gift Aid, you’ll use my details to send me marketing
We keep Gift Aid registrations completely separate from our other mailing lists. Completing a Gift Aid declaration on its own will not subscribe you to any marketing lists, newsletters or similar. We are legally required to collect your name and address to claim Gift Aid, and an email address helps to reduce postage costs if we need to contact you about Gift Aid.
3. I need to be registered for self-assessment for Gift Aid
You don’t need to be registered for self-assessment tax returns. Once you have completed your Gift Aid declaration, all the administration is done by us as the claiming charity.
